Document Manager Overview

The Document Manager module is intended to hold files with more sensitive information than those in the File Manager module due to its increased security features.

These files can be displayed in their own page (lister and detail page).

One of the features of the Document Manager module is the ability to encrypt documents behind a password. This feature does not require users to have an account on your site, simply knowing the password will grant them access to the documents.

How to encrypt documents in the Document Manager module

1. Click on the edit pencil of an item to open it.
2. Confirm the Public field is checked, this allows the file URL to exist on the front-end. Save and close the dialog box.
3. Check the row box, open the blue Action dropdown, select Encrypt.
4. In the dialog box, create the password for the file, click save.
5. Done! The file is not password protected on the front end.
