How to Stop Specific Email Addresses from Receiving Email Marketing Campaigns

You may receive a request to remove one of your contacts from receiving any future email marketing campaigns sent by your site.

There are two ways to remove an email from receiving email marketing campaigns.  In the Emails sub-tab under Subscribers, and in the Excludelist sub-tab under Subscribers.

Emails Subtab:

  • Go to the Email Marketing Module > Subscribers Tab > Emails subtab
  • Make sure all filters of the report view are cleared by clicking the "Clear Filters" link towards the top-center of the email list:

  • (if there aren't any filters, the "Clear Filters" link will not appear)
  • Search for the email you would like to stop sending email marketing messages to in the search bar
  • Click the edit pencil icon next to the email
  • In the pop-up dialogue, un-check the boxes from the email campaign categories the email address shouldn't receive email campaigns from
  • If you want to make sure they don't receive any email marketing campaigns, change the "Opted-out of ALL lists" dropdown from "no" to "yes"
  • Press save

If you choose to set the "Opted-out of ALL lists" to yes, they will also be added to the Excludelist sub-tab, and their status will change on the Emails subtab

Excludelist Subtab:

  • Go to the Email Marketing Module > Subscribers Tab > Excludelist sub-tab
  • Press the green '+Email' Address button
  • Type or paste in the email address that shouldn't receive email campaigns anymore and press Save

This will add the email to the Excludelist subtab and if they are listed in the Email subtab, their status will also change to "Removed" or "Opted Out"
