Basic Info Module Overview
The Basic Info module is where you store your organization's core information, including your contact details, address, hours of operation, social media links, and default social sharing settings. Note: Basic Info works as part of a three-module setup alongside Design Setup and Page Builder. All three modules must be configured for your site to function correctly.
Website Information
- Website Name (company name): Your organization's official name as it should appear across the site. This is used in various places throughout Freedom, including page titles and system-generated references.
- Website URL: The full domain address of your website (for example, yourdomain.com). This should match the live URL of your site exactly.
- General Contact Email: The primary email address for your organization. This is used as the default recipient for contact form submissions and system notifications.
Phone and Header Details
- Main Phone Number: Your organization's primary phone number. When the Show Phone Number toggle is enabled in Design Setup, this number is displayed in the site header.
- Header Phone Label: A customizable text field displayed alongside the phone number in the header. This can be used to show additional context such as your address, a call-to-action phrase, or office location details.
Hours of Operation
The Hours of Operation field uses a full rich text editor, giving you flexibility in how your hours are formatted and displayed. You can add multiple lines, apply basic formatting, and structure the content however best fits your organization.
When the Show Hours toggle is enabled in Design Setup, the content entered here is displayed in the site header. Keep the formatting clean and easy to read since it will be visible to all site visitors.
Address
- Address 1: Your primary street address (for example, 115 Mexico Ct.).
- Address 2: Suite, unit, or building number if applicable (for example, Suite C).
- City: The city where your organization is located.
- State: The state abbreviation (for example, MO).
- Zip: Your organization's ZIP or postal code.
- Country: Select your country from the dropdown. Defaults to United States.
The address entered here is used across the site wherever your organization's location is referenced, including schema markup that helps search engines display your address in search results.
Footer Copyright
- Extra Copyright Text: Additional text displayed in the footer alongside the standard copyright line. This is commonly used for hours of operation, taglines, or other brief information you want consistently visible at the bottom of every page.
Social Media
Enter the full URLs for each of your organization's social media profiles. Only fill in the platforms your organization actively uses. Any field left blank will not display a corresponding icon on the site.
- Facebook URL
- X (Twitter) URL
- YouTube URL
- Instagram URL
- LinkedIn URL
- Yelp URL
- TikTok URL
When the Show Social Media toggle is enabled in Design Setup, icons for each completed platform will appear in the site header, linking visitors directly to your profiles.
Default OG Image and Description
These fields control the default image and description used when pages on your site are shared on social media platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn. If an individual page does not have its own social sharing image set, the values entered here will be used as the fallback.
- Default OG Image: Click Select to choose an image from your File Manager. Use a clear, branded image that represents your organization well, since this is what will appear when someone shares a link to your site on social media.
- Default OG Description: A brief description of your organization or website used as the default social sharing description. Keep it to 1–2 sentences that summarize what your business does.
Saving Your Changes
After making any updates in Basic Info, click the green Apply button at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Changes will not take effect until Apply is clicked.
Tips
- Keep your Main Phone Number and Hours of Operation up to date, as these feed directly into the site header when enabled in Design Setup.
- Use the Header Phone Label field creatively — some organizations display their address there instead of a label, since it appears prominently next to the phone number in the header.
- Your Default OG Image should be at least 1200x630 pixels for best results when shared on social media platforms.
- Even if you only use one or two social platforms, entering those URLs here ensures the correct icons appear in the header without any additional configuration.
