In this support article, we will discuss how to hide pages. The Pages and Webpages modules are both covered.
Webpages Module:
The Webpages module is located within the Website application. Within this module is the ability to prevent a page from being included in the results presented by the website's search option.
The option to disable and enable the searching for web pages can be found by editing a webpage and scrolling to the bottom section labeled "General."
The Checkbox labeled searchable will allow backend users to hide webpages from being found via a search on the front end of the site.
*Please note that the searchable checkbox does not remove the webpage on the front end in this case meaning if an end user had the URL for the non-searchable page they will still arrive at this webpage on the front end.
Pages Module:
The Pages module can be found in the website application of your site. This module includes the option to hide a Page. Pages that are hidden do not appear anywhere on your website.
To hide a Page, edit it in Freedom, remove the check from the Visible On Site box, then click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
The major difference between these two buttons (Webpages vs. Pages) would be that end users who have a link to a page that has the "Visible on-site" checkbox unchecked will be redirected to the defaulted 404 error page and not the content.
